The Wine Rack: Mumbai’s Hot New Bar for Wine Lovers

After making wine and whisky super cool in Delhi, the man behind brands like Whisky Samba and The Wine Company – Ashish Dev Kapur – has recently introduced a new concept in Mumbai at High Street Phoenix called The Wine Rack. Housing an extensive collection of over 300 wines sourced from over 35 regions, The Wine Rack is a stunning restaurant and a wine shop too! It boasts a 50 meter wine rack within, where the entry level Indian wines start at INR 900 onwards while International wines are available under INR 2000.

Every wine has a story to tell and if you want to know all the details, the wine sommeliers at the restaurant are there to help pick the perfect bottle for your mood or make you explore myriad varietals. The Wine Rack promotes wines by bottle and offers up to 25 wines by glass, making this the ideal place for wine aficionados. All the wines are available at wholesale prices giving you an experience of easy dining with wine starting at INR 1000. A bottle of Moet costs under INR 10,000 and Chablis at INR 6,495. From international sparkling wines to champagne, The Wine Rack has great deals for your favorite wine assortments.

What about the food? Celebrity Chef Sarah Todd has curated the food menu which reflects the diversity of wine by picking on old world charcuterie and classic small plates to a new world section. Highlight on the menu are some exclusively curated dishes which are Sarah’s take on Indian Street Food which include Chettinad Vada Pav with Pineapple Relish, Sev Puri meets Bangkok, Raan Kolapuri, Kulcha Platter and more.

Signature dishes include Karari Roti, Snapper Ceviche, Charred Corn, Spinach, Goats Cheese and Artichoke Pastille, Smoked Pork Chops and more.
